Travelling Instructions

How to reach Tübingen: 

• International guests are recommended to arrive via Stuttgart Airport (IATA code STR). The airport is about 30 kilometres from the city centre of Tübingen. There is a direct bus line 828 (Airport Sprinter) between the airport and the city center. The journey by bus takes about one hour.

• Within Germany and parts of Western Europe it is recommended to travel by train via Stuttgart. Stuttgart's main station is connected to the European high-speed rail network and is served by both ICE trains of Deutsche Bahn and French TGV. The onward journey from Stuttgart to Tübingen takes place with local train of Deutsche Bahn. The journey takes about one hour.

About the venue: 

The venue will take place at the university campus "Auf der Morgenstelle", uphill in the northern part of Tübingen. The campus is accessible by bus (# 5, 13, 17 stop at "Auf der Morgenstelle") or by car (follow the signs "Naturwissenschaftliche Institute").  For the venue, we will use two lecture halls: N10 and N11. Both are located at the Institut für Evolution und Ökologie (2 minutes walking distance from "Auf der Morgenstelle" bus stop):

Conference dinner will take place on Thursday September 16 from 19.00 to 20.00 at Liquid Kelter restaurant (https://www.liquid-kelter.de/), which is located in the old town at Schmiedtorstrasse 17, 72070 Tübingen.

The welcome reception will take place on the evening of Tuesday, September 14 from 18.00 to 20.00 at the Museum (https://www.museumsgesellschaft-tuebingen.de/), which is located next to the old botanical garden of Tübingen at Wilhelmstrasse 3, 72070 Tübingen.

Where to stay: 

Even though the venue will take place at the University campus, which is located on the northern part of Tübingen, we recommend staying close to the city centre. The most convenient way to book your accomodation is via booking. There are plenty of options available. The following hotels are well connected to the University campus:
